What if the solution to urban congestion and skyrocketing EV costs isn't a futuristic giant like the Tesla Cybertruck, but something more compact, efficient, and affordable? Could vehicles like the Telo MT1 and Aptera truly upend the EV market by delivering unmatched utility and groundbreaking innovation? These are the questions poised to shake the foundations of an industry dominated by behemoth trucks and pricey designs.
As the EV landscape continues to evolve, consumer demands are shifting. The Tesla Cybertruck, once the epitome of futuristic electric vehicles, seems to have lost some of its initial luster. Meanwhile, smaller, smarter, and more efficient options like the Telo MT1 and Aptera are gearing up to hit production lines by 2025, promising to address the pain points of modern EV buyers. Can these vehicles—marked by their affordability, efficiency, and innovative designs—become the people's choice for commuting and utility? Or will the weight of industry giants overshadow their potential?
The Telo MT1 and Aptera are not just new entrants—they represent a paradigm shift in EV design and functionality. The MT1, with its Mini Cooper footprint, Toyota Tacoma capability, and Tesla-like range, brings a fresh perspective to electric trucks. Meanwhile, Aptera's solar-powered, aerodynamic design redefines efficiency in ways that other EVs can only dream of. Together, these vehicles offer a compelling glimpse into a future where EVs are not only greener but also smarter and more accessible to everyday consumers. Let’s dive into why these innovations could become the perfect antidote to oversized, overpriced electric vehicles.

These two EVs represent precisely what I want in my future vehicles. The Aptera's tear shape design is exactly what I kept sketching on my book covers in Junior High and High School. That was about 55 years ago. My design differed in that the driver sat on the centerline of the car, and the two passengers sat behind the driver with their seats angled at 45 degrees behind the driver. This would allow them to enter via the same front doors that the driver uses. I was thinking that a motorcycle drivetrain would be used to cut cost and development time. Battery and power management development back was not what it is today, so I was not considering that back then. The team at Aptera really seems to be making good progress toward production. This will undoubtedly be the most efficient automobile ever produced. The Aptera hits my, I love efficiency button, while the TELO pickup hits my, I love space utilization button. This vehicle is less radical and therefore should be more accepted by the general public. It's, compact size should make it a hit the world over. It is the practical pickup that most people who aren't in the trades need! I want one of each!

I already have my own EV awards (BSEV Awards) and Aptera won with Telo being the first runner up. So, they already received awards ahead of 2025. So, please note that in the future.

I absolutely love both vehicles but being a startup is very difficult. If 1 of the 2 makes it 5 years I will be pleased given the anti-EV and government policies which are ahead. My ideal loadout is both vehicles for me and my wife. but I consider the odds of being able to do that perhaps 10%.

There's some weird editing in this video. You show the Aptera while talking about the Telo and then there's the cut of a truck drifting through snow... But yes, here's hoping to a great year for both companies. Although Telo is a bit away from production. Aptera is on the cusp.

The real question is, will either vehicle actually be produced in 2025?

How cool would it be if the TELO got the same $25k tax break as a $6k pound suv like the Land Rover gets.

How is the Aptera 'smaller" ? Its the same width as many large trucks, its as long as a Tesla Model Y (yet only takes 2 passengers), and isnt one of the "most affordable on the market "since its not on the market.

Epitome is not pronounced epi-tome with a short e, short i, long o. It is e-pit-o-me. Long e, short i, long o, long e.

These are too cool, too functional, too nice of a product. Thats why they will never be built in any significant numbers.

Why do you go on and on about Telo and show nothing but pictures of Apteras or, at best, six seconds of the same telo footage over and over and over....

Both "Winners" do not exist. So what did they win? Empty promise price?

How can you call aptera a winner when it has yet to cross the finish line. Who has seen one delivered?

aptera will go bankrupt soon, lawsuit over patent of the shape of the vehicle wont help if they loose that its game over.

It's pronounce epitome, as in these vehicles are the epitome of hyperbole.

Best Tesla sales are with the model 3 (not the Cybertruck) and the Aptera is not "smaller" and may not even be cheaper. You want efficiency ? Use a bike.
