All the mother is doing is making sure that her kid is safe, and she doesn’t mean to harm but the teacher thinks she’s harming him. And the kid actually loves his mother as mummy long legs.

See for me, it's hard to call anyone 'villain' in this story:
The kid has no idea about anything other than his mom being irl Plastic-Man. And the cops only ever see an escaped giant menace a woman and child before knocking the woman and encapsulating said child in seconds.

Though the mother and teacher seem to be the far more guilty characters.


The mother escaped a place that clearly experimented on her, though how much blame can be put on the corpses of the workers that were in her basement is questionable, especially the woman she took over (brings into question how the boy was even born, was the worker pregnant before the mother made her into a disguise? Possible replication like single celled organisms?).

And the teacher bearing the same guilt. Seemingly had the best intentions at the start. Though she had alternative motives judging by the fact she brought him to the factory probably knowing they didn't have his best interests in mind. Also the fact she's also an employee at the place puts her care of the boy into more scrutiny

let's recap the timeline:

1) An employee of the Poppy Playtime Company had been turned into Mommy Long Legs.
2) She had escaped the Playtime Factory and had gone missing.
3) At some point, she gave birth to a child (who turned out to share her abilities, as shown at the end of this animation).
4) Another employee of the Playtime Company eventually discovers that the child's mother is Mommy Long Legs, and asks the child to lead to her for investigation. Upon seeing Mommy's horrifying body and behaviour, she is seen as a threat by that other employee, who then tries to withdraw the child from her. However, far from being a danger to the child, Mommy Long Legs is actually very protective towards her son and in return see the other employee as a threat as well. Eventually, Mommy Long Legs is killed by the local police while sacrificing herself to protect her boy from an accidentally shot bullet.
5) The other employee suspects the now-orphan child to share her mother's abilities, and hence brings him to the secret facility of Poppy Playtime Company.

I am still unsure about the other employee's motivations though:
- Did she initially intends to neutralize Mommy Long Legs to preserve the Company's secret? Or to even bring her back to the facility at some point?
- Does she brings the child to the secret facility simply because he's now an orphan? Or because he knows too much? Or because he may be used as a potential guinea pig for the Company's goal of creating living toys? Did she really suspect him to share the same abilities as his mother, and thus thinks that he could replace Mommy Long Legs' role at some extent?
