Ah LG, like it or not, this was the only phone company that dared to try new stuff even if it didn't work out

At this point I'm just under permanent stress anticipating a sponsor segway in the end of every sentence

LG deserves massive respect for not only keeping headphone jacks, but also putting a quad dac in there to make it sound amazing. I miss their flagship series

Few comments on the LG Wing:
4:00 The YouTube app used to work better with the LG Wing, it's the more recent version of the app that doesn't go from full screen back to the regular window size because YouTube made it so it auto maximizes video when a phone is horizontal, which is why it freaks out (it never used to).
4:17 It's not Google Maps, you're not using the 'LG Keyboard' that comes with the phone, it will go to the bottom screen if the phone is in Wing mode.
5:50 Same thing when using remote desktop with the 'LG Keyboard' you're using the 'Microsoft SwiftKey Keyboard' it doesn't know to auto switch to the lower screen.
Also another thing worth covering is that if you connect it to a USB Monitor you can use a full screen interface similar to Samsung's Dex interface (another reason why there's that track pad)
12:30 You're meant to use the on screen volume control by swiping down on the lower screen when the phone is in Wing mode rather than the physical buttons, also if you turn on the Always On Display a double tap on the screen will wake it rather than having to use the power button.

Never thought that LG is still giving so many updates for the Wing despite the closing of smartphone division.

LG was the ONLY phone builder who refused to just accept the rectangle slab as the only acceptable form-factor and not only dared to try out new things, but also doing so with throwing its whole corporate weight behind those attempts. I really wish they would still be making phones.

I loved LG. They had plenty of misses but they tried things that nobody else did. I miss their finger print reader / power button on the back in the perfect spot.

11:02 - in German we call that Vorführeffekt (demonstration effect), when everything goes smoothly once you'll show it.

I went through 3 of these phones. Each was faulty and crashed horribly. I really was sad. I wanted so much for the Wing to be amazing.

I actually loved LG Phones and the way that they didnt give in to what a phone should be, But rather what a phone CAN be.. and i always respected that. They did phones others were to scared to do.

Hey guys, I normally don't comment but I felt I needed to. My daily phone is an LG Wing and I have had NONE of these issues with it.

Especially the the screen issues: I have had mine for 2 years and have no scratches, no bubbles, and no wiggle.

The screen is NOT loose, in fact it's tight and satisfying the way it slides out.

I normally use it vertical but when I need to write an email or send a text I swivel and the smaller screen is perfect for the keyboard menu, it was designed for gboard and it works well.

I use it when I'm watching live streams so I can see the full content and the chat.

The gimble mode has been huge for me as a creator and the cameras are made for the live gimble feature.

This phone was made for hyper nerds, creators, and warranty voiding pirates.

It really gets a bad rap considering how great it is.

The LG V60 was a beast of a phone. Had an amazing SD 865 processor, a huge 5000mA battery, 8gigs of ram, quad dac and 15w wireless charging. All it was missing was a 90 or 120hz display but that was it. LG should've toughed it out and stayed in the mobile phone market.

Actually, in the app drawer you can organize and delete applications more quickly, you just have to open the drawer, click on the three dots at the top right and touch where it says organize applications and that's it, you can freely move the apps apps and delete them without leaving the app drawer. 😊

My favourite phone of all time is the LG G8. Still my daily driver. It was part of LGs "promised upgrades" set of phones AFTER the announced foreclosure. Truly great device today!

A bit smaller than the V60, but has a beautiful QHD P-OLED display, Hi-fi Quad DAC (Producing the BEST audio quality and experience with a good pair of headphones), a 3.5 headphone jack, and Micro SD card support up to 2TB of external storage.

I personally feel that phones are now regressing in some areas, removing features that were genuinely appreciated by many.

I can't find any device that I can confidently say will replace the experience that I've gotten with my G8. Sony comes close with the 3.5mm headphone Jack and SD card support, but their flagship price is more than I'm willing to pay and they lack Quad Dacs.

The Pixel 8 Pro seems interesting with the recent Pixel updates that were dropped a few days ago.

For now, I'm going to keep rocking this timeless device!

As a Fairphone voter I'm so happy he's testing that one as well now.

For the lolz, maybe rehire Colton to test the Unihertz as well?

As a previous wing owner, you could have gone to the app setting where you can choose to remove/hide or uninstall multiple apps.

My absolute favorite lg feature was the ability to control the volume of every app. A lot of games just allow you to turn sounds/music on or off. With my lg phones, I could turn them down so I could quietly hear the app while still being able to listen to podcasts.

It's sad that LG didn't get the recognition they deserved. Still daily driving my LG v60 and hope it will last a couple more years. I love the inbuilt DAC and the option to add a secondary screen with a case.

5:49 thats because you use 3rd party keyboard, the 1st party one from LG does show correctly on the bottom screen
and emulating 3DS/DS games would be pretty cool on this... if the emulators had support :D
