In USA...you must continuously keep power to the cars electrical system while changing the battery!  

If you do not, as I have learned on a hybrid Rav4....you will loose a lot of computer settings! 

And I learned you must replace old battery with same amp type new one. If you put in a stronger battery than original...you must have a device plugged into ODB2 port, to 'register new battery' or the car will not work properly (charge properly).

To keep power to the cars electrical system, with car turned off, easiest way is to use the standard OBD2 under dash port, plug in, by connecting a OBD2 'power saver' connector into the OBD2 port....then connect a good power source to that power saver wire device.

After watching many YT videos on changing battery properly (without loosing settings)....I now fully understand why and how this works for Rav4hybrids in dealer also advised the same info as listed above...as I had to take car into dealer to fix my computer settings...after new battery placed into car..

Similar to the Prius, near the spare tire. Actually I had to jump start my RAV4 2020 Hybrid Limited but I used the red positive terminal in the fuse box and I placed the black negative on the distant part of the engine block. Thank you.

There is a fuse or relay box on the left. Could a 'add a circuit fuse adapter' be used from this location? It is well protected from road conditions. Or is there risk of losing computer settings since this keeps the electronic memories energized. There isn't much info on the box readily available on line, although there is some on changing and registering a new battery. Thank you.
The visible part number is 'Toyota 82662-0R280 Cover, Relay Block'

This information is in the owner's manual somewhere, but that info is harder to find than the battery itself.

Does the steering angle have to be reset. When the Rav4 HV is new, the cut out fuse is removed for storage and sometimes they have to do a steering angle caliberation so it will drive straight without drifting. Is it necessary to re do this after 12v battery removal.
