yes, it is amazing !! ya he released this song and it didn't hit very well then the producers of "family ties" tv show saw this performance and made a deal to use his song in one of the most viewed episodes of the series. It went to #1 after it came out on the show.

I was 17 when this song came out. I was addicted to watching Family Ties in the 80s when it was new. I first heard this on and episode where Alex fell in love with a girl that was getting married. He chased her to the train station by driving overnight to get her. The girl playing his love interest turned out to be his real life wife and they’ve been married since 1988. I cried when I first heard it back then and it’s still as powerful now.

It’s weird because i listened to bands like Bon Jovi, Billy Idol, Scorpions and Motley Crue in the 80s. I didn’t ever listen to this song around my friends! 😂

Yes sir, Billy had a great voice. But, more currently, you should check out the song "When a man loves a woman." The cover from the group "Home Free." They are 100% ah capella, and 1000% amazing. Thank me later.

also, he has been called a one hit wonder with this song, but he did alot way back but many would say, nothing compared to this. There have been songs that have ripped off the sound and I think a few did cover like michael buble and tom jones. I have a ton more songs that I think you will really like.
