sth i found useful not only for vim but in general is that you can have your caps lock to escape so you dont have to move so far away every time you want to go visual mode.


also in insert mode ctrl+h is backspace and ctrl+w is ctrl+backspace whichi deletes the whole word.

hello and thanks for the tips!
I'm on the way to learn C, Linux and now came vim to make things better :(
when i save and exit i find that vim? has created a ".orig "file which is empty!
could you please explain me what is that and how to avoid it?
since now i was editing with gedit which was way easier!!!
I've compiled all the programs using "gcc -Wall filename.c -o filename" command so far and so i don't get "a.out" files
Am i doing it right?
