The part they don't tell you about is that Medicare premiums are also going up in 2022, higher than the CoL increase!

Social Security always seems to balance itself out, people will receive more money, then Social Security turns around and increases Medicare.

Yeah that extra $14.45 is really going to offset the increase in the cost of Medicare, gas, food, etc. I'm just ever so grateful you are so generous.

If 6% increase is given to rich, will be better for the country to increase corruption pockets.

WOO HOO!! After they TAKE ALL of the increases to my Medicare and Social Security, I'll have an extra $12.00 per month increase. I'm sure that Me getting an extra $12.00 per month will Infuriate the Rich Politicians. They will work harder at trying to figure out how to take this away from me, while increasing their pay by $ thousands per month.

It's only 40 dollars. They promised 200. So it ain't much. with the way inflation is it aint nothing.

It's a lot of politics by way of government telling big business "OK, you can raise your prices now, because we just pumped more money into the economy". Same thing happened with the stimulus packages.

After you get money the rent is going to be more because we will be getting more money and anything else that goes by our income will be affected by the money so it’s not a big thing

So, what about Social Security benefits to increase 5.9% for 2022.

And Medicare premiums will increase an equal amount and negate any gains for our grandparents. Perhaps for Xmas we should get grandma a Kroger gift card so she doesn't starve.

Thank you thank you thank you! Now that I'm getting a raise, that's good news! :)

A raise to the SSI checks (or any) would only mean a rise on prices everywhere. The same as a a raise on minimum wage check. Now I see items that cost up to $20.00 in the .99 Cent Only Store. Hell a 20 oz pepsi is now $2.50 at a 7 eleven. And I am not sure since I have not been in a Mac Donald's in years. But I won't be surprised if the only things that I see in the Dollar Menu will be the napping, straws and ketchup.

We are still in the same old spot. Yes we have an increase but the prices rose more that our increase. So why get happy? Stuck in the same spot.
