What You Should Absolutely Never Order From Steak 'N Shake

Steak 'n Shake does what it does very well: offer up sizzling "steak" burgers, crispy fries and sugary milkshakes to diners well into the late night hours and at affordable prices. In spite of that, it's run into some major problems over the past few years, closing numerous locations and even offering up free fries in an attempt to bring in customers at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

So if you love the chain and its food, you may want to pay it a visit soon to make sure it sticks around. Get a steakburger, some fries and a shake. But steer clear of these menu items that don't quite live up to the standard. Here's what you should absolutely never order from Steak 'n Shake.

At least in the Tampa area, the restaurants are poorly run. When I would read news reports of which restaurants bombed their health inspection, Steak N Shake was the only chain I saw represented multiple times.

So many locations were cited for equipment being unclean or subpar.

So to answer your question, I order nothing from that cesspool.

I'm proud to say I've been a customer of Steak n' Shake for 40 years and never once ordered anything but burger and fries. For quality product, service, and prices, I can think of no other restaurant even remotely as good, perhaps In n' Out and Whataburger.

I once got an order of Chili Mac from our local SnS that was so bad, I went up front and demanded to see the manager. A few minutes later, he came over to our table, and the second he saw what I had been served, he comped my entire meal and had a replacement served up ASAP. The original serving of Chili Mac had nearly a half an inch of pure grease floating on top of it. The manager saved himself a customer that day, but I am not likely ever to order that dish from them again.

Now all of sudden you want to talk about nutrition and calories intake? Practically all of your episodes revolve around unhealthy junk foods. By your own standard you should disapprove all of them. Talk about inconsistency and hypocrisy

I love Steak N Shake and know their secret to getting free meals no matter what because I use to work there when I was 19-20.

My favorite is the triple cheeseburger with Frisco sauce.

We just went back on Monday no cashier they just a four machine that had coin spots and money plus credit card and plus the machine did not allow to sub in stuff and they have bottle of water and no order for fountain water and one of my friends said that the noddle chills did not tase that good and it was way too much so I am not going back never ever and they was also rude too. There was only 4 I saw there work.

Saturated fat is harmless. But of course you folks have to follow the standard mainline nutrition advice. I always keep the fat in my chili. Also, the American Heart Association’s guidelines on salt are way too low. Don’t forget that for decades that organization told us how healthy Crisco was, even though it was then rich in deadly trans fats. Because Procter and Gamble was bankrolling them… and, yes, the danger of trans fats was not widely recognized then.

Dairy products’ saturated fats are definitely the healthiest of the saturated fats… but just ignore that.
