I’m not sure where he’s getting these statistics and facts from. I have friends in Canada who have mentioned to me multiple times how people in America don’t realize how much easier it is for us to get wealthy. None of them can afford to buy a house on their own unless they have their parents co-sign because of how expensive it is to purchase a home. Not to mention, a lot of them make more money than me but 50% of their paychecks go to taxes.

I disagree with what you conclusions. First of all, you removed tax havens, so remove the things that disprove my point, then go to the countries that are insular and misrepresent what makes them successful. Claiming social programs make these countries successful. No, they are successful despite the social programs, not because.

All of those countries score really high on the economic freedom index. If you want to see the effects of strong institutions China is a great example

bad statistics :) If you want to know where you’ll get rich, you need to pick out people of similar to you. And then look at the distribution of their wealth. That will give you the probability distribution of your own wealth.

For example if you are a tech entrepreneur, you might want to find out where tech entrepreneurs are getting rich. That still wouldn’t mean you can migrate there and can participate in that wealth creation. But at least you can drool about it.
