Well Gible was added on to Ash's team at the last minute so Ash didn't have time to evolve it if he wanted to, cause remember Ash doesn't force evolution on his Pokémon if they're not comfortable with it.

The cool thing about Torterra is that it actually kinda proves Paul right. His torterra was an absolute unit, and Ash was so easy on his Turtwig that he became softer when evolving. It adds nuance to their rivalry and methods.

Pidgeot never failed ash. Pidgeotto lost plenty but pidgeot has done nothing but win as a pidgeot.... in its one and only fight... the second it evolved and was released in the same episode 😅

Aipom wasn't a disappointment at all. He served his purpose as a lead way from advanced to diamond/pearl. He also had some cool early gym battles in sinoh and great contests with Dawn. Only disappointment is how it was released for the dumbest possible reason

To be fair, Pidgeotto was Ash’s main battler at the start of the series prior to capturing the 3 starter Pokemon, and when the bratty Pikachu doesn’t want to fight.

Unfortunately, most of its battle are cut off, its forst battle was a double battle with Ekans and Koffing, and Ash’s uses it to the point where it can no longer do so due to exhaustion.

Rewatching the first series for the first time in a very long time and realising what a genuine plot armoured halfwit ash was is wild that mf was literally throwing out whatever Pokémon struck his fancy and brute forcing it even if he had one with a type advantage

Thier is no fault of pokemons (torkoal is exceptional) there is a fault of ash,
5. Gible added in last moment in ash's party, also he did't give enough training & doesn't evolve after gen 4
4. Aipom is for very short time in ash's team, also dawn want an aipom for her contest because is is fucking cute more than buizal
3. Also this is the fault of ash, pigeoto can be powerful but kanto ash is literally dumb even the first 2 badges he never won fairly
2. Torterra is a good Pokemon but ash is so moron that he didn't know how to use a heavy pokemons correctly means yes, he (ash) loves agility but if your Pokemon is slow so why are you forcing the slow pokemon for fast attacks & agility

Pidgeot was cool but got overshadowed by ash’s other kanto mons, as a kid he was my second favorite behind squirtle, but the only times I remember him winning were in the gym battle against team rocket and against a fearow
