I get it's to save time by a few frames, but i kinda miss the extended version from Duelist Kingdom - Battle City arc but it's clear... Yami's/Atem's transformation just keeps getting better and better and never gets old

The animation for yugioh was always basic looking, even in this movie especially. Characters never move that much unless there's a specific moment. But I love the series dearly. The art was always the part that had the most effort put in.

This movie did not age well for me, for several reasons.
1. This movie came out in English before the battle finals was even finished. So, that ending was spoiled, sorry dubbed watcher’s :(.
2. Considering what happens in the final season of Yugi, this movies plot makes absolutely no sense. There’s really no way to fix the story either, other than just pretending the entire event never happened. 😂
3. Yugi and Kaiba’s duel gets interrupted. I would have liked to see Yugi Lose first, then kind of have a redemption duel, but oh well lol
