I grew up very poor. I asked a girl to prom my junior in high school. She was so happy said yes and ran into my arms. Then the next day she said she didn’t want to go anymore and she sounded sad. I think what pissed me off about your story is that a woman would be so petty over $20 for her son's best friend. I have spent hundreds of dollars on my son's friends just because they were with us and we were doing something. Birthday parties we're going to theme parks or just spending a week or two at my house eating all my food because that's what teenage boys do.
