Whether you just want to avoid all the chemicals found in store-bought dog shampoos or just enjoy making your own, I have 5 different DIY dog shampoo recipes for you to try. I have tested all of the recipes below to rate how easy they are to make, how well they clean, and how much they lather.

Not only do I show you how to make each recipe, but test each one on my dogs to see how well they clean, lather and rinse.

FULL RECIPE and MEASURMENTS:

Simple 3-ingredient dog shampoo
- 2 cups of warm water
- 1/2 cup of white vinegar
- 1/4 cup of dish soap

DIY dog shampoo and conditioner with coconut oil
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup Castile soap
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 5 drops lavender essential oil (optional)

Homemade flea and tick dog shampoo
- 1-1/2 cups of water
- 1 tbsp Castile soap
- 2 drops lavender essential oil
- 2 drops peppermint essential oil
- 2 drops eucalyptus essential oil

Homemade dog shampoo with essential oils and aloe
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup of aloe vera gel
- 1 tablespoon of Castile soap
- 2 drops of lavender essential oil

Homemade oatmeal dog shampoo
- 1 cup of warm water
- 1/4 cup of uncooked Old Fashioned Oats oatmeal
- 2 tablespoons of baking soda
- 1 tablespoon of Castile soap (optional, but necessary for any lather)

Do you think it would be okay to combine the 1/4 C Coconut Oil to the 3 Ingredient recipe as a 4th ingredient? If it's so good for the fur, then couldn't I just add it to the easy one?

I've tried the first remedy it only works for a day or two then the fleas come back it doesn't prevent others from being on my dogs. All the other ones look like they would only do the same. But I guess it is worth trying?
