#Xiaomi14Ultra 1.0.8.0 Update improves camera performance!?

Main camera with HDR looks near perfection to me.

For reference if you capture a photo in HDR it doesn’t show HDR on screen but it does show in the photo that’s taken. You don’t get a live view basically.

Using 'proper' camera's for years, I'm not used to artificial things like HDR anyways. Unless one wants to use bracketing, one has to choose and play with aperture or EV.

The only saving grace is that Xiaomi has put an app to submit bugs and feedback from within HyperOS. I've submitted a few tickets and the team has been responsive thus far. Keep sending the issues/feedback and hopefully if there are enough submissions, this HDR problem will be escalated as a priority. For now, I have gcam as a secondary camera whenever I get irritated by blown out highlights.

I see differences in sharpness and skin tone in the portraits

It seems that they fixed the softness and make then sharper, with little bit of white balance corection.

Xiaomi has a lot goning on and the camera uppdates do not seem to be number one priority. Thank you for puting your self into the things you comment.

It's an improvement but it's not enough. The Vivo X100 Ultra and Huawei P70 series will be releasing soon and I honestly can't see the Xiaomi 14 Ultra in its current state competing or surpassing these phones in photography.

Can you redo the test of Pixel 8 Pro? It got also few improvements, especially in Night Mode, which scored low in your tests that were performed right after the release.

I feel the same as you. I have a xiaomi 14 ultra china version 1.0.8, a xiaomi 14 ultra global version 1.0.3, when testing selfie camera, portrait photography, backlight photography, there is no positive difference. Still overexposed in many cases.

Still seems to be having a hard time with exposure on faces and people in general.. All the reviews I've seen of the phone the camera has looked like it needs alot of work

There is also a sporadic message when you have the smart noise cancellation turned on that the microphones are blocked 4K60

I bought a digicam from 2000, It has 2MP and it shows better skin rendition than any phone camera (AI improved?). It's crazy how incompetent the people deciding what looks good or not are in power over these camera outputs. a

i need your advice, i have xiaomi 13 Ultra, should I upgrade? or wait for Sony 1 mark6? my main thing is the camera especially with wider lense faster shutter.

i'm really torn between x100 pro and 14 ultra. The telephoto on x100 pro is on another level, that's even more prominent in low light cases . My major use case is for videography and xiaomi offers many modes on the same (master cinema, movie mode, log ). Was wondering which would you suggest ?

I cant see a reason to choose other camera mobile than the x100 pro as xiaomi 14 ultra oppo or honor have their own problems and s24 and iphone are clearly worse at night. Vivo wins this year

Mate.. look properly.. in your portraits you can see your fce skin details much better in new update compare to softer older version..
