Top News | Denouncing recently enacted Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) once again, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi went all guns blazing against BJP on March 16 in Hyderabad, Telangana. During a press conference, he alleged that the BJP government wants to make the poor and Muslims stateless. "Our case (challenging CAA) is already in the Supreme Court but at that time govt of India said that the rules are yet not framed. But now as the govt has issued the notifications and has framed the rules for CAA, going to the Supreme Court is a must. If the govt starts giving citizenship based on an unconstitutional law, it can be harmful... This govt is saying that if your religion is Islam, we won't provide you the citizenship, for this we have moved to the Supreme Court. The law was passed in 2019 by the ruling party, but they keep it as it is, when they saw that there would be an announcement for elections in a week, they came up with rules in the night by keeping in mind, the elections. The BJP-led govt wants to make the poor and Muslims stateless. No one should see CAA without NPR & NRC. HM Amit Shah should tell, didn't he say in the parliament and in many interviews that the NRC will follow the CAA?" said Asaduddin Owaisi.
