I really feel like Ducati are the only manufacturer that aren’t pretending to care about motorcycle performance. Going really, really fucking fast isn’t just lip service, it’s life.
How many iterations have they offered at the top of the tree since the current R1 came out? 4? 5? Ignore rider bias, they’re the only team that’s taking motoGP sufficiently seriously and it shows in the things you can buy from them. SPS is life.
I think we’ll look back on performance bikes and this period in Ducati’s history will be the halcyon days in speed.

Crazy to think Aprilia had the track specific settings in 2017. Even the ability to list your own tracks via the app. Good to see Ducati caught up 5 years later.

I remember when people used to 'erect' 916's on their walls coz they looked like a work of art. I think this is worthy of that finally. Absolutely gorgeous bit of kit.

It’s really amazing how with two additional cylinders and decades on, you can still detect the root-notes of the 916. Much good has come from this manufacturer’s maturation on a production and build-quality (reliability) level but lord, I hope they never lose that smaller builder mentality and the qualities inherent to a close-knit, family style operation.
