Interested to hear your thoughts on Oud Palao, and how it compares to this.

I've tried various ouds: some Ensar Oud, Rising Phoenix Perfumery for pure oils and attars with oud and indie stuff from Areej Le Dore, Bortnikoff, TRNP, Centauri, Meleg, Auphorie, Agar Aura. From niche I've tried Oud Satin Mood (tad too sweet) and Oud Cashmere Mood as well as Tom Ford's Oud Wood, meh. I did like Kisses Rain from Renier Perfumes and Rasa from Pomares Stolen Perfumes. Lancome Oud Bouquet I like but not really oud. I still feel like I don't have a handle on oud in perfume, it's just too complicated with all the synthetic versions, sandalwood is much more straight forward IMO. So my favorite way to enjoy it I think is to just burn the chips of agarwood. And if I had all the money in the world, I'd get a bottle of Kyara from Di Ser.

I saw the Video, where you mentioned, that Vermillion Wood wasn't really your thing. But I love Oudh Osmanthus from Mona. It's a stunning fragrance, so well blended with the Oud and the Osmanthus. The most beautiful Oud fragrance, that I've smelled so far.

I just got another 5: Alexandria 2, Alexandria Orientale, Cuir Cuba Intense, DNG Pour Femme, Paradoxe Prada.
I am searching for Chanel no 5 EDT and LVEB. I really need a shrink. And I know it. I haven't even unboxed the last two. I really am broke and broken :)) And I cannot stop it. So, any advice is really appreciate it 💜

Oud använder man året om ;) Vill påstå att oud gör sig om möjligt ännu bättre ju varmare det är.

I’ve been lucky enough to get my hands on some very oud-forward perfumes that use the real thing, and they’re extremely pungent. Bortnikoff makes some, as does TRNP. The barnyard facet is in full effect with these. With many other fragrances, oud plays a meek role, and sometimes I suspect the inclusion is more for marketing purposes as there has been an oud trend in the Western world, it seems.

The upside of your idea is that you can claim firsthand experience with the problem, whereas a psychologist isn’t going to advertise herself as a recovered obsessive or the like.

Downside is that shopping addictions have root in deeper problems, as you said yesterday, and if you help someone uncover the source (trauma, existential dread, etc.), you’d then be faced with addressing those problems. Some customers might already have awareness of the root cause, at which point I’m not sure how comfortable you’d be proceeding.

In any case, I wish you luck.
