Amiibos themselves weren’t mistakes, the scalpers are.

Shortage of amiibo actually boosted sales, ironically enough, basically they had a shipping problem because of the place they shipped it to being closed, so supply was incredibly limited. That made it so when someone saw an amiibo, they would instantly buy it. Then, they got a hold of their stock issue, and amiibo sales went up slightly, before absolutely plummeting. Now, they make a more limited amount, so you can't just always expect the amiibo to be there, but still enough so you can buy it if you want it.

I wanted to start collecting amibos but they're really expensive, mario characters are usually $15 - $25, so I'd be broke before I even had a shelf filled

Backwards compatibility was pog, but the name tricked the wii fans into “an accessory!”

Ive only seen 15 Amiibo in the last year, 3 of them were actually for sale at a store (used) and the others belonged to my friends, Europe's market for Amiibo does not exist

i collect amiibos and haven’t gotten a new one since a few years ago because of their ridiculous rarity, and eBay prices certainly don’t help

The amibo one is so true. Whenever I go to target and check the video game section, it’s always just the skyward sword amibos and the animal crossing cards. Not even the good ones either, it’s just the Sanrio cards

My local target has too many byleth and Kirby amiibos and that's it

I was in France recently and they had some quite good amiibo. Back home in England now and there’s none in sight.

You really could’ve said something obvious like “Nintendo refusing to use CDs with the N64” or “Nintendo not buying Rare”, but these are all pretty minor in the grand scheme of things.

Even if I don't care for Amiibo, I do wish I picked up the Ivysaur one. I technically have 2 Amiibo but I don't use them as such though.
