I grew up with Bread, it was popular when I was young. I later learned that "Everything I Own" was a song about his father who had died. As I lost my own father 30 years ago, this song really resonates with me. But truthfully, I love everything by Bread!

Bread has a lot of beautiful songs . So happy I was a teen in those years. These are the kind of songs we listened to every day. After 50 years I still know the lyrics by heart because we played and replayed Bread's songs over and over..Greetings from Belgium.

(imho) Everything I Own is one of the most perfect songs ever put to tape and is my favorite Bread song. Followed closely by "If'. Few songs words, melody and music bed fit so perfectly together, Thank you for reacting to these 2 All Time classics.
