We out here talking about those crazy ape movies, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes. How underrated they are as a trilogy, and how one of the apes is named after a salad dressing.

'Ape Jesus' is a perfect way to describe Caesar.

Koba didn't just hate humans. He didn't trust them and had his suspicions confirmed when he found they were stocking up on weapons. At that point he had to act to get rid of Caesar as leader of the apes - if he was right, helping the humans could spell doom for the apes.

I could picture you having a career as a film critic on Adult Swim. By the way, I mean that as a compliment because you’re awesome man! You vids are so creative, quirky, hilarious, and I can absolutely tell that you take your time to give the best quality vids. Keep up the great work!

Rewatched the reboot movies and now I'm 4 movies into rewatching the original (5) Planet Of The Apes movies, and I'm quickly realizing how genuine of a tribute the reboot series is to the originals. When Cornelius in Escape From The Planet Of The Apes explains how apes came into power he almost narrates the exact sequences in the "No!" Scene of Rise. Then you have such a huge amount of callbacks to Conquest and Battle for the planet of the apes in Dawn/War. I feel like the original franchise (all 5 movies and the tv series) is really overlooked by some who talk about the franchise and I'm happy to hear someone bring up how good the prequel series is even as a standalone series. Great video!

1:01 Family Feud background with Price is Right music and a Who Wants to be a Millionaire set of options. Genius.

This video really proves how much the word Underrated has been warped and changed because people are too dumb to know what it is
all 3 films have been huge successes in the box office and all rated incredibly high not to mention its always mentioned in any discussion about the best movie series, there is absolutely nothing underrated about this trilogy

I believe that this trilogy is the only reboot saga that has worked in the last ten years or so: it narrates very well the beginning of the story of the original film from the 60s, but creates its own imprint, with just a few references/Easter eggs (like the news of the spaceship in Rise).
Above all, he builds excellent development paths for his characters: Caesar stands out above all (and is masterfully played by Serkys, with the help of a team of technicians worthy of praise), a good hero, but not without dark elements, perfectly embodied from Koba, who instead can see nothing but hatred from humans... and rightly so.
I would give an honorable mention, for the monkeys, also for Maurice, a wise and benevolent orangutan who creates an interesting contrasting parallel with Dr. Zaius of the original film, the first protective also towards humans, the second terrified of them and tense to hide the truth about the human species.

On the human characters front, I must say that I don't have a single favorite character or one that convinced me more than the others: the whole human cast serves well, in the different films, to convey different approaches to the themes of the films.

I would also like to talk, in my comment, about how the sound and musical sector is calibrated to the millimeter: the sounds emitted by the monkeys and other animals, despite their obvious nature of computer-generated images, give a certain realistic impression to the non-human characters. humans. And the soundtrack features tracks that are truly difficult to forget: the tribal music in which Caesar climbs the redwood; the procession of monkeys among the remains of a dying species or the epic melody of Caesar's death... and I could mention others, perhaps more discreet, but always aimed at creating a worthy atmosphere.

I’m sorry but war of the apes was a huge disappointment that misleads the audience thinking it’s going to be an all out war.

Its not a prequel. Its a reboot of conquest

Is it just me or was anyone else a little disappointed the Colonel got infected at the end? I loved the movie overall and think Harrelson killed it in the role but him being sick and not himself in the final showdown kinda undercut the message of mercy and letting go of hate because at that point the Colonel was no longer a threat to Caesar. I think it would’ve been more merciful for Caesar to kill him in that state actually. Idk I just wish those two awesome rivals could’ve had an actual final battle and maybe had to come to some mutual respect/understanding where the Colonel has to go fight the army and Caesar can lead his people away. Still a great end to an amazing trilogy!

@13:00 you're calling King Kong an ape racist. 🤣 He's the mo-cap and facial capture actor for Kong in Skull Island. Not sure if he's back for that Godzilla smackdown.

Monkeys and apes aren't the same! They are related but not closely. Learn to separate the two!
Caesar is the nickname of Julius (Caesar!) Exactly!!! The word eventually became a Roman title denoting kingship. Caesar therefore, means King!
