After he died he suffered a final insult - his death certificate had his occupation down as "apprentice salesman".

Gianni's Columbo impression to end it off was perfect

My number 1# conman of history

My favorite part of the whole effiel tower incident is how the wife of the man he was conning caught on and asked her husband to confirm it was a real government man, how did ‘count’ victor lustig prove it, he asked for a bribe.

Thanks for bringing to common light all these fascinating historical figures for those of us who used to read and just, stopped doing so over the years.

Legend has it that he pinned a postcard of the Eiffel Tower in his Alcatraz cell, with the "sold" mention .

If you think he was an impressive conman you should look up Gregor MacGregor. A British army officer who made up an entire country named Poyais with fake maps, fake currency, a fake flag, and even fake ballads and claimed to be king of the lands. 250 investors moved to Poyais but because the island was nothing but uninhabited jungle only 1/5 of the colonizers lived. And he was never convicted! He was acquitted and retired a millionaire in Venezuela where he was considered a hero by the people for his service in the Venezuelan army.

Hey Jack, I'd love to see you do a video on Joshua Norton, Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico.

Nothing like a Fresh Prince intro to make ya feel all nostalgic before some niche history

Let's just take a moment to appreciate the fact... this guy *scammed Al Capone and got away with it like a F*ing Champion!*

What a wonderful way to begin the year, a jack rackham video and a scene either voiced by gianni or edited from columbo, either way, magnificent

That must have been difficult to keep switching accents throughout the episode.

Well done.
Love you work, keep it up Jack.

Sir, I have been BINGING on your historical episodes AND I CAN'T GET ENOUGH!!! Your content is not only hilarious but informative and that's the way I like my education! Good old irony, bad luck, good luck and regime changes!

He was in Alcatraz at the same time as Capone too. I wonder how some of those conversations went...
