Hi Matt, having stayed in Alvor for holidays a couple of times, loved it. Visited Lagos for an afternoon and LOVED the place!
In August we are holidaying just North of Lagos town. On that beach just the other side of the jetty.
If I can steal a day or two away from the family (we are there for two weeks this time 😃👍🏻) I’d like to hire a longboard and have a lesson or two.
I do surf in the UK, in Wales and Devon and Cornwall. I’m not great but love it. Moved to longboards as I’m a bit older and not very supple.
Are there surf companies I could hire a log and have a lesson or go surf for the day with them? I’ll take my wetsuits, 1-3ft gliding would be awesome but need to learn to get to the rear of the board and turn!

Cool video! I’m planning to go at the end of October but can’t decide between Lagos and Sagres. My level: I can catch green waves sometimes, and I’m working on positioning myself in the right direction. It wouldn’t hurt if the water was a bit warmer. I’m planning to rent a car, and I only have 3 days, so sticking to one spot would be fine.
