Injections were my specialty when I was a nurse. I always aimed to be as painless as possible for my patients. The secret, is a trick that I learned in college early on: whatever arm is being jabbed, if you tap the foot of the opposite leg (eg. left arm jab, right foot tap etc.), the brain is not able to register the pain response properly and so it becomes dulled. I’m not 100% sure of the physiology of how this works, but I used it for years and the vast majority of my patients always said that they could not feel when I had stuck them. I just thought I would share that because many people fear needles and it’s something you can try the next time you have to get one 😊

As a type 1 diabetic who had to take 3-4 shots a day if not more until I got an insulin pump I can confirm that it is slightly more comfortable to put the tip of the needle in first as it helps create the path into the skin

Long-time Produce Worker here. Wash it and Wash it WELL. Warehouses, grocery stores, and receiving bays are filthy. "Conventional" produce is often stored above "Organic" and the meltwater from the shipping ice contaminates the "Organic" frequently. You will be punished for pointing this out to your supervisor.
