She must have had the same college counselors that I had. I remember they not only told us to get student loans for education costs but they told us that we could get student loans for living expenses while in college too. That's how my student loans blew up. I was so stupid back then. We will not make this mistake with our son. We are paying cash for his college education and he is staying home.

I paid $200, 000 for a degree in aerodynamics then realized I spent 5 years leaning to throw a Frisbee.

I started watching these hoping to find a quick fix for my det but found something better. Figured out how to do it and that I actually can do it!! 2 weeks of watching you and have now payed off the first $2500 and now onto the next... felt so good lol

Only thing working out for her is her retirement pension as a probation officer. Having a Master's degree to be a probation officer is pointless unless she promotes to get a higher salary.

Sorry if this is harsh but unless she seriously increases her income, I believe mathematically it is impossible for her to pay off debt, own a home and have anything left for retirement

American, 50 and broke in America? The greatest country in the world. Unfortunately, that's the dilemma of many Americans.
When I came here 15 years ago. I said to myself "I don't want to end up like so many broke Americans at 50s". I worked very hard to make it work for me.
I am 35 and already retired. I will be a millionaire before 40. Im not bragging but if an immigrant could do it, I dont see why any American, born and living in this country cannot do the same.

She has a master's in human resource. I'm in the same profession. The money is good in this profession. She doesn't need to struggle.
