How do you save a google doc on/in a desktop folder as a google doc and not a word doc? I don't have MS Word so not able to edit if I download as MS Word.

It saves to download, but it will not save to a desktop on a Mac.

Don't know how to save individual doc to desktop. But you can right click on Chrome grid, select 'save as' and choose save to desk top. You still have to open the whole Google docs, but if you use a single doc a lot, it should be right at the top of your list.
