The influence of the Commodore 64 computer was felt world-wide. It was THE 8-bit computer to own throughout Europe. Many of the Commodore computers sold there were manufactured in Braunschweig (West) Germany. Some of the competitive advantages enjoyed by companies like Apple and IBM in the U.S., were simply not there in Europe.
