Here is what you'll need!

2-INGREDIENT CHOCOLATE CAKE
Servings: 6

INGREDIENTS
4 eggs, whites and yolks separated
9 ounces semisweet chocolate
Powdered sugar, to serve
Vanilla ice cream, to serve
Seasonal fruit, to serve

PREPARATION
1. Preheat the oven to 325˚F (170˚C).
2. Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and melt completely, about 1 minute.
3. Using a hand mixer, whisk the whites until soft peaks form.
4. Add the yolks, one by one, into the bowl of chocolate, whisking to combine.
5. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold ⅓ of the whipped egg whites into the yolk and chocolate mixture. Repeat with the remaining egg whites, adding ⅓ at a time.
6. Pour the batter in a greased 6-inch cake mold and bake for 30 minutes.
7. Once the cake is cool to the touch, gently invert it onto a plate.
8. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and top with ice cream.
9. Enjoy!

I have done it, out of curiosity and it is awesome! It does not taste eggy at all! (is like saing that cakes taste like mayonnaise) Depending on what chocolate you use (yes, i have done it with several) the taste changes, I prefer it no so sweet, so my favorite is whit 60% cacao chocolate and if you use sugar free chocolate is ideal for diabetic people (but it ends more dense) I do really love this recipe.

Honest Review: I don't have a mixer so I did the whites with a whisk which takes way longer, but you'll have great arms after. It took me probably 20 min to mix everything cause the consistency gets really hard to mix but you gotta push through and it doesn't get easier till the 3rd egg is added. All in all the stuff actually made a cake and it's actually good.

This is soooo good!! My husband calls it chocolate omelette but if I hadn't told him it had only eggs and chocolate, he wouldn't have guessed it. It's moist, a bit flat but sufficiently fluffy for me and it was ready in 45mins total right from the time I took the mixing bowl out to getting the cake out of the oven. I truly think this is a great recipe. I decorated it with strawberries and blackberried and really couldn't have asked for more from such a simple recipe. Thank you, Tasty!

My wife and I just made this. It's surprisingly delicious and very cake like. Spongy, very chocolatey and you can even make a low carb version with sugar free chips. With prep and cook time, maybe 40 minutes, max.

I’ve made this a few times now and each time I’ve gotten compliments on this. It tastes brownie-like and is ridiculously easy to make. I love it because there’s a whole lot less of a mess to clean up after and the result is amazing too.

The argument that this is chocolate flavored egg is invalid because the method of cooking is different. They whipped the egg whites until fluffy, separate from the yolks. Also, in an omelette, eggs are the base, and something else is added. In this case, the chocolate is clearly the base, and the egg is the ingredient used to create structure. You can obviously see the proportion sizes. There is way more chocolate than eggs, therefore you can’t just call this eggs with chocolate in it. In conclusion, just because it’s a two ingredient recipe doesn’t mean it’s one ingredient with something else in it. Also be thankful for what you have even when you’re wrong in thinking that it’s a bad recipe.

Made this last night and it was delicious. I used a little dark chocolate and added about 6 oz instead of 8 oz. Still came out nice and sweet.

For all those who are willing to make it, here are some handy tips:
1. Use a milk chocolate while doing this and it will turn out great as using semisweet or dark chocolate will make it bitter.
2. Add a tablespoon of milk to the chocolate while melting it.
3. Addition of a dash of salt and some vanilla essence to it will give nice and flavourful cake.
4. This recipe turns out grt with milk chocolate too.
5. Make sure that the chocolate you've melted is not too hot or it will ruin the batter.


Just take care of these things and the cake will turn out
