I really like how you leave in all the little “stuff” that happens on a job(nailer problems, bent brads, forgetting the tape measure in a different location, etc.). These are things that happen to everyone at times whether they would admit it or not. Thanks for a great channel with great content. Also appreciate the humor. 😃👍🏼

"Always ease the edges . . . paint sticks better to that slightly rounded edge." Thanks, sincerely, for that piece of information. I'm about to start installing and painting casing, and you will save me a ton of frustration.

Good to see...I am tiling a kitchen backsplash up to a window without casing and drywalled. This gave me some ideas on what I want to do before continuing to tile up to window.

Really enjoyed the video. The editor deserves praise for his jamming additions. I also enjoy the uncut nature of forgetting things and dealing with tool issues. Thank you so much for showing us what to do!

Impressive seeing a carpenter setting his own nails. For 20+ years I thought it was the painter’s job!

Nice to see someone laughing at issues...instead of screaming not nice words like myself.

What a satisfying quickie, sir. 😂
My grandad told me to always build your house like your wife is watching.
After 15 years together, I understand what he meant. Casing ALL 18 exhisting windows and adding 4 basement windows after the rainy season.

Perfect timing, Ben! I have thought for years that this would make a classy upgrade to my 1960 home windows in Houston, Texas. However, I wasn't sure how to approach the project. This procedure looks quite practical for a bedroom that I am currently redecorating. In addition, the quality of the work on that project has been greatly enhanced by what I learned from your drywall patching and painting videos. Finally, I have found the Milwaukee brad nailer to be a very handy tool.

This was a really great video. You let us know that this is great for the garage and many other things. You let us know that to do it better, effectively start over. Some days it’s the livingroom some days its the garage. All good. Thanks.

That little "thing" is a combination square - one of my favorite tools, and not too hard to remember. Just call it a square.

U crack me up. Thanks for sharing the things we go thru constantly as contractors. Meaning the booboos and times where things just don’t always go as Planned.

👍👍

Great video. Thanks for providing a video that is true to life. It’s nice to know the pros have all the same problems I do with technology/tools! Lots of great information as well!

Thanks for making such a 'real-talk' video haha nice to know I'm not the only one struggling with the 'burnt ends' of my left-over nails... on a brisket, it's the best bit. When using a finish nailer, it's a recipe for a giant pain in the azz...

Nicely done. Thank you again for your imperfect magnificence!

I did a similar upgrade to 17 windows in a 20yo house. I was worried about the hairline gap with add-ons so I opted for a different technique. I removed the protruding inch of sill/stool and then replaced it with a longer piece of wood. I used biscuits to align the piece and then glued and nailed each piece. I still ended up having to fill/sand/paint the join on the top surface but it came out well. From face on, you couldn't tell they'd been modified.

Awesome timing for this video! I have 12 windows I am planning on doing this to. Wasn’t going to pay the builder $10k to do this
