As a former owner of a grey platinum 1977 Scirocco and a 1992 red GTI, all I can say is that they were worth every penny.

I was at Humberview VW right after Boxing Day about to buy 2024. Salesman offered me the last 2023 autobahn sitting in their showroom for the same price as the base model. Same red car. I was hesitant given all the bad review about infotainment on 2022-2023 models but that steep discount hard to walk away. Salesman confirmed all the issues related to infotainment fixed on late 2023 models. Took delivery December 27th. What a beautiful machine. No issue’s whatsoever with infotainment. Driving experience, sound from the engine, how it hugs the road on twisty roads and silky smooth ride on uneven road only GTI can deliver. I was driving 2019 Golf Comfortline before I think VW golf lineup simply the best. You never get the same feel from Civic, Mazda 3 GT turbo which my kids have, or even BMW.

I miss my former GTI which was an 07 dual clutch. I sold it ti a friend when it had about 280, 000 km on the dial. It was a fantastic reliable car. I think I will get a 2024 GTI manual I wish it still came as a 2 door.🥶

No doubt the base model is where the value is at for the GTI. This could be winner for VW. Love that exhaust sound!

I took delivery of my 2023 40th anniversary (yellow DSG) in May and it’s just perfect. Got used to the no buttons cockpit in a matter of days and honestly when I’m in other cars that have buttons/knobs they just feel dated to me. I loved my 2017 Mark 7 GTI, but do not miss it at all.

Looks like a Gti! I love how VW always keeps the Golf/GTi's design the same. They tweak it here and there, but it always keeps the overall silhouette fr previous generations

I had a 2004 Golf GLS TDI 5 speed manual and loved it for two reasons: 59 mpg and with the back seats lowered, I could stuff a boat load of my stuff in it.

As the owner of a Mark 8 GT I can say without doubt that the haptic buttons are not a big deal after about a week I know where everything was at everything felt normal and I don't even think about it anymore

I unfortunately sold my 07 GTI to a friend who recently broke up with his wife. When I sold it it had near 300, 000 km on the dial. It's still running now with 375, 000 on the dial. I loved that car.

I listened to Zack a long time ago and bought a 2017 GTI with a 6-speed manual, plaid seats and performance upgrades. I still love this one at 58, 000 miles. So far, I can’t find a single quality problem. I have several cars and my adult kids won’t drive the GTI because they know I keep this one in pristine condition…it’s my baby. Is that just wrong for a guy in his sixties?

Love the GTI BUT unfortunately interior all digital is not for me. It is a distraction while driving.

5 years into my 2016 GTI Autobahn, DSG with the optional IS38 I can't wait to drive it each day! While I'm ready for something new eventually, I just can't find anything that compares to the fun drive & powah & quality at this price point and practicality anymore. (Sorry VelosterN). And it has a volume knob! So I'm actually best off keeping my mk7 lol. Smh. Love the looks of the new front end, not a fan of the digital controls AT ALL. Great review and Zack did said it - Just go get a GTI!

Awesome video Andrea and Zack! The infamous GTI looks sooo much better...I can totally see why it Zack's favorite! The front exterior looks so futuristic, great looking interior. I think I told Andrea that the interior looks very Hyundai like

Enjoyed the review. Thanks for pointing out that the base model is not a bad option. You both rock!

My husband just bought this car to commute to work, and we absolutely love it. It’s a great value, especially if, as the hosts of this channel said, you get the base gti, which we did. It’s well worth considering if you’re looking for a car in this price range and category.

Great review. Does anyone else out there hope that build quality and reliability will improve with production of all GTI's and R's moving back to Wolfsburg (Germany) from Mexico? Thanks!

I was a VW fanboy for 15 years. ‘02 GTI 1.8t- endless problems including a bad shift tower and a fried computer after an APR tune. ‘11 GTI- shot trans at 40k miles. ‘06 and ‘15 GLI’s-problem free. Now in a ‘20 WRX. Great review! Great channel!

Love my 2018 Gti’s interior. Don’t think I would mind not having a volume knob in the new one as I usually just use the steering wheel controls, however, losing the climate control dials would annoy me. Would buy a new R when the time comes as I would want the extra power and 4 wheel drive.
