I’m really just can’t believe that when the trailer for this came out everybody was hating on it, but it turned out to be a very beautiful and majestic show that is slowly, but surely making a fandom by the way, great art and the song hits hard

I say ship lightly ofc cuz they're kids and I loved how realisticly fast they break up 😭
!Incoming extremely long yap of me analyzing ur incredible art! (Just like a warning do not read it if u wanna keep ur sanity and if u do read it uh tysm I do not know a lot of people who care enough to indulge in my obsession with cartoons and little animations)
Also ur artstyle is so cute
U made them match ur style and still look accurate to their character designs
I find it so impressive how u carried over their main character design aspects so they would still look like themselves even in such a different art style
Like in the show yuwens head is freaking insane looking but even though the art styles are so different u still made each character instantly recognizable
I also love how even in a "simpler" style like urs u were able to make all the characters look so different (avoiding same face syndrome I mean)
I feel like I personally struggle with this
for example when im trying to make characters have different characteristics like a different face shape for example they look like they're in like totally different artstyles
I have a pretty cartoony artstyle sort of similar to urs and im so amazed at how well ur characters like fit together
My characters have pretty bad same face syndrome but when I try to avoid it by giving characters things like different shaped heads or facial features they dont look like consistent(???)
The thing I noticed with ur style is I think that the thing that makes it recognizable is the things like rounded edges, nothing is super sharp or angular, difference in line weight and thickness
maybe the issue with mine is that the main thing that makes my style recognizable is the actual facial proportions?
maybe I should try doing things like making the lineart, colors, or other details like that the identifying feature within my own style instead of the proprotions?
I dont really struggle with drawing verrying body types (like below the face bodies with like chubbier, thinner, more muscular body types) its mainly just the facial features and shorter hair (like mens hair or pixie cuts) that I struggle with making look different from eachother
I so admire ur artwork, and I love how much u were able to like master the thing that I struggle with
I love how kai and Taylors hair is so different even though they're so similar
they're both thick "strands" pulled into a ponytail with a couple hanging down, but even though they're so similar u exaggerated the texture with Taylors hair being braids/twists (I can't rlly tell wich it is looking at actual scenes from the show) to make it look different from kais dreads is incredible
I also struggle drawing black hairstyles, im confident with the way I draw dreads, but drawing braids is hard
I try to add texture on the outside like u did with the outline for the braids being like bumpy instead of straight like dreads, but I feel like it makes the hair look too detailed and cluttered on top of the super simple cartoony body
I normally avoid this by drawing thicker braids, just so there's less of them so the drawing isn't as busy but what if im drawing someone with a lot of thin braids
Then the hair just looks inaccurate
I could also avoid this by making the lineart of the braid smooth, but then they just looks like dreads
I end up drawing my black characters or other characters with textured hair with tight spirals with afros, dreads, a do rag, or silk press.
but braids make up such a huge percent of other styles, box braids, cornrows, goddess braids, ect and I dont wanna just not draw any of those cuz theyre super cool looking and can be a crucial way for a character to express themselves or representations for actual people who have those hairstyles irl
Ik it seems like im putting myself down a lot but I swear I do have things I love abt my own art
Ive always been super proud of how confident my lines are, im good at matching an oc's personality to how they look with their clothes&whatnot, I think im good at expressions (speaking of expressions ur amazing at them too) and characters personalities matching the way they pose, stand, sit, walk, ect
Im also great at pinpointing things that could be improved within my own art, but actually doing the improving is where I have the most issues
If u have any advice to offer I would absolutely love to hear it from u but ofc if u dont feel like it thats perfectly understandable its not ur problem and if ur reading this 100% tired from reading all this absolute and actual yap
