Spot on. My daughter-in-law is from Sapporo in Hokkaido. We visited our new in-laws for a week and then toured all over Japan marveling at the difference in our cultures. The people we met were so accommodating and proud of their uniqueness. To this day I am still in touch with a person who took us on a tour of an art museum where she was a docent. What I wasn't prepared for was the small gifts people exchange when they meet you. I received discount coupons and picture postcards from some co-passengers on the Shinkansen. I wound up giving them some state quarters I had, especially New York State which had personal significance to them. I spent time in Akihabara in Tokyo going through all the electronics and photography shops. Your video brought back many of the enjoyable and novel memories of my experiences. Thank you for that.

Fantastic travelogue! Thank you. I lived in Japan during the 1980s. The bird sounds at crosswalks are for the benefit of blind people to help them cross the street. The Japanese also invented the raised yellow bumps on the pavement to help blind people navige, so they will not inadvertantly walk into the street.

Haven't done a long trip to Japan, but have lived in South Korea for several years off and on (military). My wife normally prefers either Singapore or Asiana airlines. I've also flown both - great service!
