For years I have used a Nespresso De'Longhi machine (Thanks Bed, Bath, and Beyond - you will be missed) and metal (steel pods) packed with instant coffee and sealed with a press-on aluminum foil cover because I could not stomach the recurring cost of new throw-away OEM pods. I went with instant coffee because using packed ground coffee never provided enough flavor equal to original OEM pods. This has worked great for me, and I love the low cost, no trash process. What I really want is an instant coffee Nespresso pod packer/reloader. I mean packed with "g" forces and no loose instant coffee crumbs. Bonus points if it can also apply the foil lids.

Based on what I know of coffee, you'll want to incorporate a feature to dissolve the coffee in cold water first, as instant coffee is very sensitive, and exposing it to near-boiling water suddenly will cause it to become bitter. Besides this, its an overall amazing Idea and I say keep working at it!

just found instant coffee. i like that the bean is freeze dried. a lot of coffee is moldy, just how it is, they try to stop it but can’t. so i have found some brands (community is my favorite) to be better in taste. i use a kettle to make the water, water into pyrex for measurement. i then measure the coffee and drop it into my coffee cup, after which i add the hot water. lastly i use a frother to ensure i have mixture. voila. you guys should hmu for my cold brew.

Great idea! There is consumer demand with the rise of Keurig and Nespresso, but both systems create waste. You may want to look into the chemical properties of brewed coffee vs. instant coffee. My guess is that brewed coffee is a certain type of chemical reaction where instant coffee might be another, the interesting thing is that both use water as one of the components....so surely there would be a way to replicate whatever is happening with 'natural' coffee beans using a synthetic instant coffee. I'm happy to stop by and help taste test anything ☕😃

Only in the US did instant coffee suck for years. In Europe you can get varietal instant coffee that is fantastic.

You have a good idea, and hope it comes to fruition

That is what I drink now most of the time is instant coffee. I like it, if I find a brand better than what I am drinking all the better. I say!❤️

This would be a pointless product, but I'm sad to say it might be profitable.

Instance coffee just needs an electric kettle, a scoop, and a mug - all inexpensive commodities. This device just automates the heating and dosing of the water and coffee powder. But you'll also need to solve the problem of storing the coffee powder in an air-tight container, extracting a dose, and re-sealing the container.
