The mini slow cooker is the best thing for cooking steel cut oats. To have hot steel cut oats waiting for you on a cold winter morning is a little bit of heaven. 2cups of steel cut oats to 4 cups of water. I set mine before I go to bed, around 10:30 pm, on the low setting and it’s ready when I wake up around 6:30 am. It makes enough for 4 servings. If there are leftovers, I microwave it the next morning.

something i've learned after many attempts at different grinders, if you're going to plan on using the grinder for multiple different ingredients, cleaning the burr type grinders will drive you made, and make you order doordash, stick with the blade. if you're only going to use it to grind coffee only, then a burr will work.

I have had my Krups coffee grinder for over 40 years and it still works perfectly.

Dash also makes an excellent, inexpensive egg cooker. Doesn't need a stove, makes soft or hard cooked eggs, and has an auto shutoff.

"Tasters couldn't taste the difference between a blade grinder and a burr grinder"

I have multiple mini dash Appliances. The one you just showed is our favourite. I cook a steak in it with sautéed mushrooms, then while steak is resting I crack an egg and cook it in the steak ‘juice’ in the pan. Makes perfect ‘over easy’ eggs without having to flip the egg because of the lid! Love it! Serve the steak with egg on top surrounded my the mushrooms. And so easy to clean! We use it every day for various meals..

you should tell people to never let that blade grinder get wet. it'll completely rust frozen in place just from rinsing it out once, then it's a paperweight

Nice video.

For grinding coffee, I use a blade grinder ... I use a very old Krups blade grinder.

For grinding spices, I do it using a Japanese suribachi.

I also use my mini slow cooker for keeping gravy hot during family dinners.

I have the same mini slow cooker and can confirm it's a great buy!

Even if you have a burr coffee grinder, I think it is worth having a blade grinder to use as a spice grinder for cooking/baking spices that are best used freshly ground.

I did fine for years using the Krups grinder. It definitely didn't last me as long as others got out of theirs and the replacement I bought had enough annoyances that I started to look for a burr grinder. I haven't been lucky with any pour-over techniques, and my (previously recommended Best Buy) Bonavita drip machine made a great cup of coffee, but I gotta say that even out of that hands-off brewing method I noticed a HUGE difference compared to the blade grinder. That being said, I was very happy with the Krups. It's just that the burr grinder makes it so much easier when you need to grinder coarser or finer. But that's just me.

Re: using a single burner to boil water. If there is an electrical outlet, just plug in an electric kettle, which is better than a stovetop kettle anyway

I have 2 coffee grinders, a black one for coffee and a white one for spices. I bought them both at thrift stores for next to nothing--Braun and Krups, both work great! When I was in college in the late 70's, I had this little square electric skillet with a glass lid (I think it was a Presto burger maker). I loved that thing. It was just right for making a grilled cheese sandwich (my go-to meal). That Dash model would do similar jobs.
