"I literally teach hair for a living" that's a plus for me. There's a difference in just talking and actually teaching, just talking means "a paycheck", teaching means "you're educating" .PERIOD! I love your videos.

I live for hair grease!! I will never give it up again. I hate that I let these YouTubers convince me that it was bad for me, smh. It has significantly reduced my breakage and the amount of single strand knots I get.

I grew up getting my scalp greased and hair “sizzled” every week with blue magic and the pressing comb. 😩. My aunt used to tell me to hold my ear then proceed to burn my hand. 😑

I had natural hair to my butt when I was younger. I just began using it again after my moisturizer. I have tried all the pricey shea options, online only brands etc. And notice that blue magic keeps my hair moisturized much longer! Going back to the old school

My son almost had butt length hair. People would ALWAYS ask me "what do you use? Biotin? Hair gummies?" When I tell them "Blue Magic", then they want to go down this rabbit hole on why i need to switch to black products 😂. Water and grease... sticking with it

I've noticed that when I twist my hair with water and grease, it retains moisture versus using the many other natural hair products.
Thank you for this video

I say this every where, but as a kid, my mom kept my hair in plaits sealed with grease. Wore that hairstyle for a week, washed and repeat. My hair was tailbone length.

Note to self: Avoid watching Linwood’s videos early in the morning. Nearly woke the house up after literally laughing out loud during the spleen comment 🤣

I've started using it on my ends as a sealant and it's helped with breakage. But I definitely have to use a sulfate shampoo.
Edit: I'm also a type 4 natural!

Chile I was ready to say something smart. My hair does so much better and looks so much better when I use grease. I do twists and using grease makes them last so much longer. I can leave them twisted 3 weeks and be fine. My hair loves grease.

I never heard of single strand knots until I went natural again 7 years ago. As a matter of fact, I've been using these natural haircare lines because of wearing a wash-n-go, which is when I started getting single strand knots. I really believe it's from having the hair out often which cause the curls to wrap around each other. Also, I didn't learn until a few years ago that when wearing a wash-n-go, you need to cowash in between wash days to keep it well hydrated. When coming up most of us didn't have our hair out, it was always braided or twisted and if we had it down, it had been straightened or roller set, hence no knots. Old school worked.

In addition to the scalp massage element, grease could be said to 'make hair grow' because it is a super sealant. If hair is properly moisturized and STAYS moisturized then hair breaks less and retains length. So it's not really doing anything for actual growth but it can be a God send for people like myself who have high porosity hair and experience issues with moisture retention and frizz. My hair stays soft longer, as a relaxed girl it keeps my new growth soft and supple, my blow outs and straight styles stay that way until i wash because there's no moisture going in our out after I wash and apply my grease. Oils simply didn't work for me...coconut oil breaks me out horribly. My Blue Magic, Sulphur 8 and Vaseline keep me covered. Plus i can base and cover my ends before a relaxer to prevent run off damage. I have fallen in love with grease all over again

I'm 4c and I use to grease my scalp and hair, but I have gotten away from it for a while and my hair started breaking off, so glad you said it was okay because I had forgotten my routine for awhile and I intend to go back to it.

I grew up on water, Ultra Sheen, Sulfur 8 & Pink Lotion. My aunt every 2 week routine was wash with flex shampoo/conditioner, towel dried, palm full of pink lotion & some sulfur 8, twisted and air dried over night, then pressed in the am. Before my aunt started that process my hair was stuck on pause. She DID NOT MASSAGE my scalp unless washing serves as a massage. I started using all these new “ natural products” that all you hair guru’s speak of and my hair went back to pause! I went back to water, moisturizer and grease, my hair started growing again. I think people need to do what works for them. If it don’t apply let it fly. GREASE AND WATER WAS THE STAPLE OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND MAJORITY OF THE GIRLS I GREW UP WITH HAIR WAS SHOULDER - ALMOST WAIST LENGTH. Soooo idk why we stopped a method that worked and started paying all this money for products that’ don’t work as well on type 4 hair for some people.

I went through 3 years of being natural trying to seal with oil and my hair was like "Chile Bye!" Hair grease and sulfate shampoo work well for me. I think it is "follow the yellow brick road..." 🤣 Thank you for this video. I have been waiting for your opinion on this subject. Stay safe...

I know you love us and all but I’m still gonna use my hair grease. It keeps my hair moisturized and growing. I love everything that’s bad for my hair grease, sulfate shampoos, and silicones.
