I listened Diana Damrau’s performance at the Royal Opera after this and think that this version might actually equal or even outdo Diana’s if the quality of recording was better. Acting was not quite as good but that might be due to the direction as well. The upper register staccatos are very strong and impressive❤ Brava!

I'm just glad she is sticking with the original score, unlike the other sopranos who like to do their own rendition of the Aria and not sticking with the original

And to my surprise one can understand almost every word. Most versions don't have that, so that is a Plus in my books. And as far as I can tell she hit every note and did an outstanding performance, but she lacks a bit emotion, especially the hate, but it'll come in time.

Would they say the same thing about a young pianist performing Rachmaninov 3? Or a young violinist playing the Tchaikovsky?
