This man made smoking meth into an Olympic event. I'm surprised that he kept driving after the move to ELDs, since he couldn't run two log books anymore.

He sounds like an Owner/Operator that has no governor on his truck and drives in the wide open roads where the speed limit is 75 or 80 regularly. Good for him.

My daddy was an OTR driver until i was about 2. I remember walking into mom's room, and her say "that's your daddy" when i asked about the stranger in her bed. I promptly replied "i don't have a daddy". First time i ever remember him crying in front of me. Baby me tried to console a "stranger'.

He quit shortly thereafter, and he worked whatever job he could just to be home. Love my daddy. ❤

Do that all the time. It’s all about only stopping when absolutely necessary. Not fun but that’s life sometimes. Lol

Been OTR for a year now. Love the work, hate the time away from the family.

Moving my last daughter into her dorm today. I flew back from a Navy mission six time zones away to be part of it. She is so happy.

Spend every minute possible with your family

The actual CEO gets to get rich off this guy's back, AND see their kids.

Amen! It is not about what you buy your children and grandchildren! It is about quality time with them.

Im not blue collar but i have resisted promotions to double my 6 fig pay, just to be around my kids. They are what is important.

I’m an electrician, and while I love my job, I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids more. I work to live, I don’t live to work

I’ve done that many and more per day working “local”, in Texas and in Florida. I was home every night. I was worthless to anyone. But I was working my butt off for cardinal.

My psychiatrist treating me at discharge when I was working hard and volunteering for extra duties while still enlisted to keep my mind busy said kids don’t remember you working for new floor tiles or tiles they remember the holidays and time you spent together. This was his way of telling me subtly I was on the path to 100% disability and to not throw myself into a civilian job to work to give my kids luxuries. A safe place to rest at night and a full belly and time with parents it’s more valuable than any luxury when they’re older

My dad worked all the time. He bought me stuff. We had a falling out and I didn't talk to him for years. It turns out buying stuff doesn't buy love.

This is the difference between boomer and gen x parents and millennial parents. My goal in life is to make the same amount of money as I do now but work fewer hours so I can spend time with my wife and kids.

He's full of s**t too...because given the time a driver is allowed to be "on duty" in a day...and how long it takes to go 600 miles...y'can't LEGALLY drive any further than that.

Sounds like he’d go further if it wasn’t for that meddling tachygraph.
