Anyone else said "Welcome to Mario Kart" at the beginning and was as desappointed as me to hear it is not in the soundtrack ?

I was a little disappointed when WELCOME TO MARIO KART wasn't shouted at the start.

Yeah, I used to play this with my dad all the time. He was always Wario and I was Bowser - I used to think those two were best friends, so he played along with it. I played it when I was only three years old in 98' when I learned how to use the N64 controller. I've kept it ever since. The soundtrack, to me, is so creative with the few instruments they used, the drifting is how I learned to drift in the other Karts (except for the SNES - that one was hard!), and it's what got me started in gaming, period. Not just the N64, one of the best consoles ever, but everything. My N64 is just about 20 years old, and it sits on my shelf as one of my prized possessions. :)

rainbow road just gives me those feels man. was I the only one that ever drove off the road up to the Mario 64 castle in that solo practice mode and hopped around it to see if you could get inside lol

Even though MK8 has recently taken my spot for favorite Mario Kart since 64, this game still has, and probably will always have my favorite OST in Mario Kart.

My bro gave me his N64 when I was about nine or ten, and I played the heck out of SM64 and MK64. I credit those games for getting me obsessed with Mario :) So Chris, wherever you are, thanks for helping me become a Nintendork. :)
