My doctor recommended magnesium to help with my migraines. I had been taking them religiously for two years. Still had headaches but never migraines. Then I stopped taking them for about a week and had one of the worst migraines of my life while I was traveling by myself. Had to pull over several times to be sick. It really does help!

Sodium lauryl sulfate is a surfactant used to help with magnesium absorption. If you're sensitive to it, it can exacerbate the symptoms you're already experiencing. Read ingredients list before taking any supplements.

If someone is taking a PPI (ie Protonix) for GERD you should have a magnesium level drawn 2x a year. The medication makes it difficult to absorb the magnesium in your diet. Do not take Magnesium with a PPI. Rule of thumb is one hour before or two hours after. Meanwhile, supplement your Magnesium with 400mg per day.
