What Can You Cut With the Silhouette Cameo 5?? 🔥🔥🔥

We're putting the Silhouette Cameo 5 to the test! Follow along as we try out different materials and cut settings in Silhouette Studio. We'll also take a look at the Kraft blade and the Rotary blade!

Watch as I cut cardstock, faux and genuine leather, acetate, fabric, and more! Some of the results might just surprise you.

I share the settings that gave me the best results for each material, but keep in mind that the machines vary, and so do materials. It is always best to do test cuts before diving in head first. These settings are definitely a good starting point!

This video was helpful. Would it be able to etch very thin aluminum? The Curio would be perfect for make a stencil cut, but I would only need to scrape the top to make a simple design.

My second project on this machine (also own a 4 Pro) I tried cutting Siser Stripflock. For a while, I didn't think I was going to be able to manage it. Repeatedly, it refused to acknowledge the stripflock and load it, then when I managed to feed it through manually, it spat it out and wouldn't reload! When I finally wiggled through enough to cut without it un-loading itself, it started off okay then went skewiff all over the place, including off the top end of the vinyl and spat out a very mangled piece of stripflock. I ended up piecing my design back together from all the random cuts. Loved the end result, but it left me feeling like it can't manage anything but thin vinyl, forget chipboard! Trying to find the right settings for cutting stripflock was a whole other issue.

Now I'm wondering if I have a fault with the roller bar. Mat works fine, but when I cut vinyl from the roll, every time it folds over the top right corner and I have to grab my squeegee and tuck it back under the feed bar before the blade reaches that end. It cuts fine after its secured manually. There's no packaging caught inside it and the machine is new out of the box, so I'm stumped.

Would the silhouette 5 be able to cut velboa/cuddle fabric? I’m awful with scissors, so having my cameo do instead it would be a real blessing.

Hi, do you know when the cameo 5 will be an available option on the silhouette go app. I just switched from cricut to silhouette and was disappointed that the new machines do not work with the silhouette app yet.

Hi, I saw that the heavy cardstock setting was 80lbs. Have you tried cutting 110lb cardstock? Do you know if it would cut 110lb heavy cardstock? Thank you
