Very clean version. It's lost a lot of the power of the original with those simpler chords on the big stabs at 0:16 - you missed the trombones and bass hammering those 2 G's on the offbeat. Listen to the original - Glad you kept that dropped F in the bass at bar 3 of the middle 8. There's a youtube video of someone doing this in their studio and they miss that.

It was everyday you recorded an orchestra for a TV in the 70s and 80s and it was engineered and produced a hell of a lot better than this muddy mess. Pete Carpenter's original orchestrations for the original theme were far tighter and nobody can beat LA Session guitar legend Larry Carlton's playing on the original versions of the theme . If in doubt, compare to the original session:


The strings are beautifully articulated with their staccato playing. The brass is tighter and sounds bigger with half the orchestra, the drums are properly recorded with depth and proper articulation and Larry Carlton's guitar riff has nuances (Picks / mutes ) that syncopate with the rhythm section seamlessly.

magnum pi vintage only. i never would have guessed until looked up on imdb that new magnum pi uses a female sjw mary sue higgins, get lost not going to watch a single episode of that garbage trash having mary sue higgins forced down my throat .

into watching season 2 on amazon for the past few weeks or watching as many episodes as possible in a single day often weekend and few in early weekday .
some episodes are good some not so but still i prefer vintage magnum pi and the newer theme nailed it 2nd time as first theme seemed weak . plus tom selleck moustache, where new magnum is shaved off, yeah i can imagine where it is placed . vintage magnum pi only !
