Don't let one bad day or two get you down. Take a few days off where it's clean, comfortable, and quiet.

Hang in there Gabby, your gonna be on a "journey" your whole life. Pace yourself. Stay safe. There is something about pushing your body beyond it's limits that you find out a lot about yourself.

Bad people can definitely ruin an otherwise good experience. Enjoy the evening and I hope to see you in better spirits next video.

I had a horrible experience with Sprocket from 4 pines and many women I’ve talked to felt unsafe there as well - last year and this year. I don’t blame you for wanting to be out of there. I’m glad I didn’t give them my business.

I had 1/2 a liter for 8 miles in the heat and humidity and turned around and got a ride into town. Never want to mess with heat exhaustion or dehydration as I’ve had both and they are not good.

Hiking alone is something I got used to after hot springs but it was a challenge at first. But now I stealth camp alone and it’s been a very positive and rewarding experience for me. But as we say - hike your own hike :)

Do what makes you happy. And I write this from a hotel after today’s heat and humidity and lack of sleep last night got the best of me and I’m taking a night to recover and possibly visit urgent care in the morning. In Duncannon PA now.

If you jump forward, reach out to me! We met a while ago - vegetarian who is looking for those hot pockets your boyfriend eats :)

Here is a tip for you..try not to announce that you are hiking seen women hikers always using the word "we"...so those who are following you online think you are with a are many women who hike alone BUT they do not let people know that...there should be other thru hikers out there..I am sure you will hook up with someone soon....during the summer always carry extra water...the trail can be challenging....its not always easy...go to a motel/hotel and regroup....clear your head....black snakes will not hurt you. It's summer so there will be tough hot and humid days..it's all part of the adventure...hang in there...but do what will be the best for you..you can always section hike...and BTW, , I am following several thru hikers on youtube..its hot and humid in Maine too..

I'm so sorry to hear you're struggling. I can see exactly why you'd be conflicted about what to do for the best. On the one hand you're a long way in to an endurance challenge and it's hard to step aside from that. On the other, you're in pain and trying to chose which pack to use so that you'll be in less pain, you're feeling unsafe and you're not enjoying it. If it were me I'd congratulate myself on over 700 miles, accept the injuries as being the body's way of asking for more support and resolve to do the rest of the hike next year. You're fabulous.

All I will say Gabby is whatever decision you make it will be the correct one. This is your hike and you define it, it does not define you. Regardless of what you decide I have throughly enjoyed your vlog, you have been and continue to be an inspiration to me and many others.

I have personally seen Hikermom put water out at Va. 311. I was really hoping she was still doing that for your sake. Never quit on a bad day.

Gabby, do what is best for you. You can make your decision better once you are rested.
That snake was long! I saw a rat snake on the AT in the meadow mountain north of the Denton Shelter. It was about 5 feet long! But you’re right, they are kind of pretty.
Looking forward to hearing your plans for the rest of your journey.

I read about 20 reviews from Hikers 17 of them said they love the Hostel and would recommend staying there. Some of them did talk about it being dirty
but one said it was dirty because of dirty Hikers. I hope you make it all the way, but if you don't you still have done great! Once again thank you for not playing
any music at all, you're letting us hear what you hear and that is fantastic!

don't hurt yourself. I'm concerned about your hips and whether you can carry enough water. It would be terrible to get heat exhaustion out on the trail and have your hips be in great pain. That would be a terrible situation. Sounds like the heat is really affecting you.

Take a break then flip north to at least MA. The weather will be milder, and you'll be back with serious thru hikers. BTW 4 Pines has been known as a party spot for many years.

I wish I could be more upbeat about your chances for a better experience but given the lateness of the season for a NOBO, the existing injury, the idiots at a bad hostel and the potential for a pretty girl such as yourself to be taken advantage of while hiking alone with an injury I would not blame you if you dropped off for this year. With the experiences and knowledge you've built up so far and a fully rested, recovered and conditioned body for next year, there is no doubt in my mind that you will have a much smoother, fulfilling hike next year. I just hope you come away from whatever you choose with the confidence that you made the right decision for YOU given the current situation and mental state. We all want to see you finish in Maine eventually with a smile on your face and trekking poles raised high.
