the color, the skin tone, the DOF of osmo pocket3 is so amazing
so I will wait to buy pocket4.

I found myself buying both and I actually use the action 5 10X more just because it's easy and durable. When I have the time I use the Pocket. That's just me. Thanks for the great review! T.

i own both, they are really great camera, i mostly use the OA5 for extreme activity and the pocket 3 for indoor activity which is really amazing

I use both for my channel.. Pocket 3 is my go to.. In rainy days i use the action 5 as its waterproof.. If they make pocket 4 waterproof i would love it

I have both, and was amazed at how easily the pocket 3 got damaged because I set it down on a concrete table. It's not broken, but still surprised at how fragile it was.

We are a carpentry company an we have both the osmo poket 3 and the action 5 pro. We like to use the action 5 for timelapse as the field of view is greater and then we use the pocket 3 for close ups etc. Both cameras are brilliant and worth every penny. Thank you

I have been using the Pocket 3 for a few months now and love it for blogging or indoor video. Recently, I got the Action 5 Pro to record backcountry hikes, bike rides, or walking around my neighborhood because of its ruggedness. Both cameras are great but for different reasons and scenarios.

Other than the pocket having a physical gimbal I think the Action 5 is a better all round camera. It does everything and a lot of it better. Plus you have the ability for underwater use with no case and can go even deeper with a case. The digital stabilisation is amazing and works so well. Yes you lose some resolution but unless you’re viewing the footage on a huge tv screen you’re not going to notice. Most watch on phones or tablets/laptops. The Pocket is a fragile item in comparison to the Action 5 also. The ability to use two separate
Mic chanels via Bluetooth with the Mic Mini is amazing too. 400m range is just awesome.
So for me taking it all into account I’d definitely say the Action 5 is the one to go for.

I have both, pocket 3 is the more capable camera but the action 5 fills the niches that the pocket 3 cannot. Osmo 5 pro has a faster "draw", more robust and durable, water proof etc. they are both great cameras that compliment each other. I just recently shot a podcast using the OP3 as my wide angle camera and osmos 5pro as one of the subject cams. worked perfectly since picture quality can be edited to look identical

Great comparison video…totally agree with you it’s “horses for courses” scenarios - want more smooth and cinematic footage then definitely go Osmo Pocket 3; want a more rugged build and more simpler recording sacrificing some image quality then go with the Action 5. I personally find myself using the Pocket 3 far more often.

I bought the Pocket 3, mainly to film at small gigs, being easier to hold and more discreet than a phone, with a better image, but obviously it's fragility could be a problem in some venues/crowds, so I've just added the Action 5 Pro, which I'll use in less 'safe' situations, or set up on a tripod for a 2nd camera set-up.
