Thanks! I finally made it too the "cookies". I'm probably going to sign up! Thanks for this resource. I tried to learn Lightwave years ago. Firstly, the program was about $1000 a year (my roommate bought it) and there were no really good tutorials. I got discouraged and quit; I thought I hated it. Now, with FREE software and a few reasonably priced tutorials, I think I'm on my way to new horizons! Cheers!

I am new to this, but have done everthing you did, and my model is still gray, but I do see that ball in the box change colors. and when I move my model up and down her hair moves sepret, and I have to refit it every time. How do I keep the hair stay on? and why wont the color work on my model? thanks for the video

Dude, you should be happy that the whole program is free! Just that is really great compared to 3Ds max and maya, and if you search around youtube i'm sure you will find tutorials about everything in Blender...

On YouTube, yes, check out their website, their more in depth video tutorials aren't free. Excuse my comment from 4 months ago, I was a bit rustled probably, but even still, I don't agree with what they do.

I don't mean to be defensive, but you miss the whole point of open source. Much of the open source software and community is developed to provide freely accessible tools and resources to do what you wish and need to do. In our case we create tutorials for a living (most of which are free) to help even more people get up to speed with 3D with OS software.

One of the great things about open source is that anyone can get up and going with it for free and then choose how far they wish to take it.

When I change the transparency alpha setting, the preview becomes transparent, but the 'actual' object doesn't. Can somebody help me out?
