That “God” is Akka trying to come back. A living dreadnought even as corpse was mentioned in dialogue. There was also a comment from the “Echo” of Oryx that was off character that may hint at the Echo actually being Akka’s consciousness during the beginning of Act 3. And we finally have the whole thing about meeting that foe which we never had a chance to face since Oryx had slayed it.

One of my buddies brought up a theory that might go into us helping out this new taken god, and that's what if us powering up our taken powers what if at the start of the next expansion we are semi taken and sent to the ascendant plain where we meet this new entity who takes our taken energy/ambition and we very closely escape and report back to the vanguard

What if it's Riven?
It's referred to as "the last" - she was always called The Last Ahamkara. She knows about the Taken, she was Taken. And this thing has massive paracausal energy, as Ahamkara do with wish magic, which is something The Nine have been experimenting with but haven't actually succeeded on yet, as far I remember.
