ALL Grains on the Squares of the Rice (Wheat) and Chessboard Problem

Dear World,
A little thing and a method can lead to incredible effects. This goes for business ideas, money, as well as the spread of a virus. Exponential growth is a powerful thing. Try a little more every day. It´s worth it given enough time.
A single Rice Grain on a Chessboard that is doubled each square shows us what is possible.
I really tried to get this out on Sunday, as announced, but virtually everything that could go wrong did. Also I really underestimated that task of compiling the animation, but as I said, if you reach your goals, then your goals are set too low. ;) Anyway, sorry for the delay.

Our intuition is extremely bad at grasping exponential growth!

I believe we can read big numbers, think big numbers and say 'wooah' but we can only really grasp its magnitude when we actually see it with our own eyes!
Great video as always!

If I could add one thing to this it would be a pile of rice representing global rice production, latest figures from 2021 tell us that 509 million tonnes of milled rice was produced globally that year. That is approximately as much as two thirds of the pile on 56th square. Also it would take the world 756 years to produce the total amount of rice on the board, given the production level in 2021.

I've read 2 myths on this.
First was a monk that created the game of chess to end a war between 2 emperors. And the monk asked for his reward to be one grain of rice on the first square and to double for each square after. Like the video shows. The emperors lost the kingdom to the monk.
The second is about a monk at the center of the universe. His task was to move 64 disks of different sizes from one post to another of three posts. But you can't put a larger on top of a smaller. When he completes this task the universe will end. Moving at one move per second the book said in about 57 billion years it all ends. I believe they're both east India myths.

By strong convention, the bottom left corner of a chess board should always be a dark square. It's been that way for 500 years since the great master Ruy Lopez, and us chess players notice it right away, and it feels deeply wrong.

By the mark of 40th tile, it becomes an impossible spiral onwards.

Basically a 40 years trap in making according to the story.
