'Seán South from Garryowen' - Irish Border Campaign Song

"Sean South of Garryowen" is a song about Seán South, a member of the Irish Republican Army, who was fatally wounded during the attack on Brookeborough barracks in 1957. The lyrics, written by Seán Costelloe, were first published in the Irish Catholic newspaper shortly after his death. Although the title suggests South was from Garryowen, this is poetic license, as he was not from that area.
