DISCLAIMER FOR GENERAL STAFF LOSS DATA
1) These are real people with real lives and real families who love them. Don’t let the numbers sap your humanity.
2) These numbers probably aren’t accurate but they’re the best we have and we don’t need them to be accurate to be indicative of patterns of activity.
3) All losses are estimates. Losses cannot be counted with accuracy because of the conditions on the ground.
4) Both sides would see it to be of their advantage to minimize their own losses maximize the other side’s losses.
5) Neither side releases their losses but we have enough transparency from the Ukrainian side to have confidence in they are indicative.
6) Personnel losses are hard to count. If a soldier gets injured, heals up, and returns to the front line only to get injured again, is that one loss or two? Also, how to deal with losses from PMC’s or soldiers fighting with RF from occupied territories?
7) Equipment losses are hard to count. If an AA complex involves several parts and one part gets disabled, is that a loss, or a fraction of a loss? If a tank gets disabled, repaired, back into the fight, then disabled again, is that one lost tank or two?
8) All recorded losses are vulnerable to multiple reporting. We have already seen numerous cases of multiple drones in the air reporting the same loss from different angles as multiple engagements.
9) Losses are not always reported on the same day they occurred. It is frequent that drone losses are reported at least 24 hours after other terrestrial equipment losses. Certain losses may not be reported for days or weeks for military intelligence reasons.

Good morning, everyone.
What is the difference between a Russian optimist, pessimist and realist?
The optimist studies English.
The pessimist studies Chinese.
The realist stays home and cleans his kalashnikov.

Starmer would be have been informed that a trilateral agreement had been made
with France and Italy to use the Scalp over Russian territory. Therefore fingers do
point imo that the US has halted this in their stance of minimal defence.
Nato is being ultimately governed by the US it seems as I see it.

8:56 hi Jonno, M-46 is a legendary piece of kit. It can outrange the D-20 and D-30 easily. In the Vietnam war it outranged US 105 and 155mm guns. Not sure why it hasn't been seen before - could be the non standard shells perhaps?

Good Morning Jonathan and the ATP Team

Good Morning, Jonathan. You may well have already seen this, but I thought I'd mention this article I just came across in Aviation Week titled, "USAF To Develop Its New Air-Launched Munition For Ukraine, " just in case you hadn't seen it & figured it might be something you'd like for your Military Aid segment or maybe that you'd just find interesting.

Since YouTube doesn't like comments with links to anything outside of YouTube, I'll try adding a link in a separate comment from this one.

There might come a point when no equipment is better than old equipment in the big picture. According to Wikipedia the M -46 has a range of between 17 and 25 miles, putting it in range of Ukrainian drones and unable to fire back against modern guns. It requires both a cartridge and a projectile, plus some tools and parts for servicing.

The Russian logistical chain must supply all equipment across a front line thousands of kilometres long. The potential for confusion and mistakes multiplies every time a new supply item is added. This reduces the effectiveness of all the equipment across the whole front line.

Absolutely nailing these Russian and Ukrainian place names these days JP. Pity really.

Good to know that some Russian milbloggers are beginning to face reality, but others continue to exaggerate successes. I’ve lost count of the number of times a small advance has been presented as evidence that Ukrainian lines are crumbling, or that Brigade X has been routed, or Brigade Y has been completely eliminated, or that the stage has been set for the taking of a major objective deep in the Ukrainian rear. Not surprising that after more than two years of false dawns a note of pessimism is creeping in.

With those M46… it seems very likely the ammo for them are coming from North Korea or even China. Its range is only 27km meaning they will be quite easily picked off

You know, Jonathan, I've been watching you for a year now and have no complaints; you've always lifted my spirits. I'm from Kharkiv, and all these recent events don't make me happy at all. I feel like we are those homeless people from popular videos who are given money for new clothes and a nice hotel room, and then everyone forgets about them, but the content creator gets heaps of praise and money. The same thing is happening with the help we are receiving now. A hundred thousand shells a month? That's 3, 000 a day, which is nothing, and that's only 1.2 million a year when Russia produces 4 million, and the fat owner of North Korea gave them 5 million just like that. We are promised these outdated F-16s, which don't even reach the range of the Su-34s from two years ago, and they'll only give us six. I don't know, it feels like a mockery, like giving an aspirin to a cancer patient. All these speeches about freedom and democracy just look ridiculous. If the civilized world were like that, it would have gathered all its strength long ago and shown Russia back in 2014 how to deal with criminals. What I'm trying to say is, why all this pretense? Just say you don't want to help anyone and it's all a facade. The Ukrainian nation is dying, hoping for civized world help. (sorry for errors i'm using gpt chat for translation)

They are not evil because of words they are evil because of their actions.

Great updates JP. Found a sliver of cell service and watched your Hits/Losses video. I appreciate your take on the good possibility of the allies assisting Ukraine in getting their long range rockets/missiles produced and produced in quantity. Maybe they aren’t ready to be used quite yet. This could explain why the US is being hesitant on long range strike inside russia-not escalating, but knowing a game changer is en route. Kirby has sounded weak and anti escalatory, but in his press briefing he had a look of a guy that knew something, maybe it was his smirk.

M46 on the battlefield?
I would say yet another level to the logistics nightmare for the Russians.
Now they have to deliver 130 mm shells in addition to the 152 mm, 122 mm etc.

Interestingly that type of shell is still being produced in Romania.

Seen video of a accident in Rostov with a towed M-30 howitzer, not D-30 ... M-30! Which is a 130mm gun first produced in 1938. I wonder how many shells they have for that and how they look like ... Artillery will soon become a major worry for the ruSSians i guess.
