REMEMBER if any of the conversation is difficult to understand you can turn on the subtitles with the "CC" button just below the screen. And, you can SLOW DOWN the speed of the video by clicking the "HD" button and choosing the playback speed. I recommend trying 0.75 or 0.5 and seeing what works best for you!

Watercolor. Hmm… In Russian, we call it “акварель, ” in Polish “akwarela, ” Germans say “Aquarell, ” the French “aquarelle, ” and the Spanish “acuarela.” The Latin word “aqua” - “water” - passed into the Italian language. From it, artists created the term “pittura acquerello” - “water painting” (the word “acquerello” in Italian also means “wine diluted with water”). Other languages borrowed this word from Italian, already to refer to both drawing with watercolors and the watercolors themselves.

Dear Tanya,

My ears must have gone on a little vacation when you gave your first pointer. I’m terrible at lip reading, so maybe I could sweet-talk you into repeating it? What can I offer you? 😊
