I have an EU2200i at work. They are hard to beat. Easy to start, very quiet, sips fuel, ability to parallel for increased capacity, & very portable. Definitely worth the money.

Noise and reliability were my primary concerns as well. I live in a standard subdivision where homes are relatively close to each other. I initially bought an EG2800i, however my wife's first comment when I started it for her was "that's kind of loud, isn't it?" I sold it and bought two of these, Companion and standard. Even in parallel they're quiet, and they provide all the back-up power we need in the event of an outage; that's the only reason I bought them. The inexpensive Chinese-made models were tempting, especially since I'm a blue-collar guy, but in the end I couldn't bring myself to go cheap. Plus, I'm one of those guys for whom pride-of-ownership is a factor; silly maybe, but that's the way I am.

You have the same philosophy I do about back up to the back up. I love having redundancies when it comes to energy. I own 2 Hondas one being the companion and use them to charge my power solar banks. One thing I did was convert both of them to propane adding another layer of being prepared. I got lazy and did not run the gens for 4 months and one got the carb clogged even though I emptied them and was using ethanol free gas. Now I store both of them without fuel but run them with propane only and you probably know that propane does not go bad. The great thing about the conversion is should I run out of propane I can use gasoline to run them. The bad thing about the conversion was that each kit is $300. Like I said, I love redundancies. My EU2200i has no CO troublesome minder, and the Hutch Mountain Propane kit. Now we’re talken😎👍 Never have run gas in it.

I have 2 Champion Duel Fuel Inverter 2500w generators and a 30amp parallel. They are also super quiet and I think they are 39 lbs. Another less expensive option for pure sine wave power. I hope to get a solar power box soon.

One benefit of running the generator with propane is that propane emits about 60% less Carbon Monoxide than Gasoline. Might be a consideration for some.

Good video after all. I want one for sure now and will buy it at end of the month here . In Minnesota we get snow storms more of them then not. My question is this: what else do I need to get that needs to go with generator. Do I need some sorts of electrical box if yes what kind . Or can I ignore the electrical box and just simply plug the extensions cord to the generator with 3 prongs in it and used it for TV, fridge, and let’s say wi fi router ?
