The issue is that a lot of people can’t get out now. Whether they have older relatives, disabled family, or don’t have the resources to leave, they just can’t escape. I don’t blame people for vlogging/ tiktoking this. I’m sure it’s prob a coping mechanism for people who are most likely fearing for their lives.

I'm on the East coast directly across from Tampa. As of right now its 8:30 PM on Oct. 9th. We got about 8-10 inches of rain in a couple of hrs. Wind gusts up to maybe 40. We were lucky. West coast not so much😢

Sustained winds >150mp. Imagine just sticking your head out the window of your car at that speed -- just that alone. That debris -- shingles, broken glass, whole fences! It's gonna topple buildings -- level the place. Whatever's left standing may have to be demolished as structurally unsound :-(

Most places will be fine. Coastal areas will get wrecked, but generally the case. Plus, most everything with few exceptions in florida is purposefully overbuilt to withstand hurricanes and floodwater to an extend. Most people have immediate access to higher ground or safety minus the area directly on the coast.

This is Florida. Floridians will stay and fight Milton and come out. Non floridians... yeah gtf out of here or you might not make it. Floridians are made for this stuff. It is sad, don't get me wrong but if you have only been here for a less than 10 years then you're not ready. I truly hope thise who needed to got out of dodge and for those who stayed, I'll see you tomorrow amongst the mess
